What are your “family’s” favourite shows on tv?
We have different shows that we watch. Some we watch together…
It is SO funny, and never ceases to get a laugh out of each of us. We PVR it every week, and try to have a family supper in front of the tv to watch it whenever we can fit it into our schedule. It is an unspoken rule that you cannot watch it without the others!
I absolutely love this show… We don’t usually let Stinky watch it, but Bubba is allowed to occasionally watch it with us.
I like a lot of random hour long dramas that I tend to PVR and store them up and fast forward through the commercials. Random thought: do you think the first and the last commercial during a commercial break are the most expensive now?? Since so many of us just zip through them, but I always have issues with timing to stop the fast forward, and tend to see those items the most 😛
On my automatic PVR list…
Grey’s is one of those shows that has the ability to make me cry… I am not a crier, but last episode for example made me cry sad, then happy tears…
I tend to forget about this one, and end up watching it by the season after the fact, as we do not get ABC Family here. It is however shown on Much Music these days and I do try and PVR it instead of watching on Megavideo…
This is a new favourite… my babysitter got me watching this one, and now I am hooked! I had to get caught up last year but enjoyed watching the back to back episodes!
For personal shows there is not much more I follow… I am not into daytime TV, believe me I used to be when my Bubba was a baby. I just don’t have time to get caught up in any of it anymore.
And I love this show, but tend to watch it on Netflix as the seasons are at weird times of the year and I forget about it. Laura Linney is amazing, and the writers know how to make you laugh and cry and get caught up in all the characters. The last cliffhanger has me anxiously waiting for Season 3!
You must think I watch TV all day long when I am home, but really I don’t even turn it on. The Satellite radio is usually on, and I am more apt to be on the computer than watch TV. 😉
My kids love discovery and OLN… but These are Bubba’s favourites…
Is a Family Favourite too, although Bubba owns many of the shows and watches them repeatedly on his ipod!
Stinky still loves his Family Channel shows…
Picky Hubby watches Modern Family with us, and the Middle.
But… Big Bang Theory is probably his favourite! I like it too and is something he seeks out on the PVR list, but once again the first time we watch an episode we wait for both of us to be home. It usually ends up being a quick lunch TV date when he is off and I am either done work for the day or it is my day off. He honestly doesn’t know how to use the PVR to tape a show… so he is kind of stuck with what I PVR, or find something on. I am sure he doesn’t want me saying that, but hey, he doesn’t come on my blog so he has no idea that I told you that… —It’s all good! Plus he never has time to watch TV, unless his eyes are closed…
If you want more info on any of the shows we like click on the photo, and it will bring you to the network’s website.
***Vancouver Canuck games are often on our tv as well… however due to lovely blackouts of regions we do not get many of them***
These are some of the shows that make me and the Picky Family Happy… What’s your favourite show? Share in the Comments Below
Friends = Happiness
I am thankful for my friends… knowing they are there for me, as I am for them, makes me happy!
Today I had planned on tiling when I realized I needed a different tile edging, AND remembered I had forgot spacers… and the closest stuff to be found was an hour away…
I was grumpy as my nose was running and I really didn’t feel that great, but I figured I should drive and go get them so tiling could begin. When a friend texted me to say she was off to go grocery shopping, with her four young kids in tow and asked if I wanted to join her.
I had told her, WOW! What good timing, as I really need some stuff from the building center, maybe I should tag along despite knowing I had a million other things to do today. When she offered to go out of her way to grab it for me. Which meant dragging her four kids into another store, unbuckling, buckling, with winter coats to go around, searching for the tiling items that she didn’t know existed before today.
So this afternoon and evening I was able to do some tiling… and get myself and my kids ready for back to school tomorrow when I would have been traveling back and forth to get supplies.
I am so thankful for the wonderful people in my life.
Allyson, I know you read my blog occasionally, Thank You! I appreciate the favour, and your friendship!
As I posted here, I am going to write every day something that makes me happy. I feel maybe it will help remind me of all the great things I have going on in my life, and to stop and appreciate them.
Today I am happy I have the amazing family I have created…
Today more than ever I am reminded to be happy about them as it’s my 12th Wedding anniversary today!
I know cheezy, married the first day of the new Millennium… It’s easy to remember the years and date though 😛
Even though we have had our ups and our downs throughout the past 12 years I am happy they are with me along for the ride of “life”
Have a Happy New Year!

… I am taking this time to reflect on the past year of my life.
January: We took a family vacation to Mexico with another family and had a blast.
My oldest son turned 11, and we celebrated at the arena with a skating party.
February: I embarked on a new fitness regimen of Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 every day following the program, and eating clean. Following Tosca Reno’s program.
March: Continued eating healthy and exercising, and was seeing results…
April: Turned 32, had one of the most depressing birthdays 😛 I am sure it will be the tune of the rest of my life. lol Hubby turned 41 this month too!
May: We took the trailer out for the first time of the year (Record breaking for us to go on May Long Weekend since we bought our trailer!)
June: My youngest, Stinky turned 8 years old, and we had a pirate Party for him at the arena.
July: My blog, Pickynikki.ca was born after a lot of time and effort to decide what I wanted to blog about, finding a name, IPs, HTML coding and a HUGE learning curve! I enjoyed it, but spent many days on my bum, working on it, and gained some weight in the process… so much for a healthy living blog 😛 We went camping again, and I even blogged about it!
August: A week at Buffalo Lake, a week in Black Elk Hockey Camp for Stinky and a few of his friends. Which turned into a camping by the arena as the long days were killing me! I actually really enjoyed it, and loved seeing Stinky improve. We also went on a road trip to Kitimat again, and helped celebrate my younger cousin’s wedding, and I made her Wedding Cake with the help of my wonderful sister
September: School started again for the kids, and myself. I have a great position again, and am thankful for the wonderful kids, and people I work with. We had a lot of great things happen this month! From Kitties, to fresh eggs from our Chickens! Life was good!
October: We decided to renovate our kitchen, and it was a month of lots of work, and decision making. It was the beginning of a stressful fall/winter! Halloween was nice as Hubby was home, and we took the kiddos out trick or treating. It was Bubba’s first year going with a group of friends… Costumes were Lego Man, and Harry Potter We also bought Bubba a Polaris Rzr 170cc, and Stinky attended another hockey clinic. I did not blog much this month here but here is the recap.
November: HELL! lol It was hard. From making more kitchen decisions, and finding nothing was going right. As well as working more than normal, and trying to advance all my commitments as I had a looming knee reconstruction coming slated for Dec/Jan on top of the kitchen renovation was a little too much for me.
My Dad flew out here and helped us deconstruct, we had a huge opening made in our kitchen. We took out a support wall to help create our dream kitchen. He was very helpful, and I wish more of our time was spent enjoying each other’s company than on Renos
December: It came, and the kitchen was delayed… and delayed some more… Waiting for contractors was driving me nuts. My kids were upset that Christmas seemed like it wasn’t happening. All we had was a sad Charlie Brown christmas tree till very early morning on December 24th. The counters arrived on December 21st, flooring was installed on the 22nd, and appliances arrived and installed on the 23rd. We had to find another plumber than the one who we contracted to come last minute to install a faucet, and the gas line for the new range so we would have running water and a stovetop during the holiday break. As December ends our kitchen is still not completed… lighting not installed, and frustrations and stressed have peaked.
I look forward to the new year… a year of new beginnings. A fresh start. I am hoping as I write a January recap that I will be posting final pictures of my kitchen, and telling you all about how much I am back on track in my health and fitness adventures.
My Goals for 2012:
