Need to Catch Up?

As I posted here, I am going to write every day something that makes me happy. I feel maybe it will help remind me of all the great things I have going on in my life, and to stop and appreciate them.
Today I am happy I have the amazing family I have created…
Today more than ever I am reminded to be happy about them as it’s my 12th Wedding anniversary today!
I know cheezy, married the first day of the new Millennium… It’s easy to remember the years and date though 😛
Even though we have had our ups and our downs throughout the past 12 years I am happy they are with me along for the ride of “life”
Have a Happy New Year!

I am tired today… I feel like I went to town drinking last night, but I think it is just exhaustion! (especially since I had a half a glass of my malibu and perrier, and dumped the rest down the sink.)
For breakfast I had a smoothie of two handfuls of spinach, some oats, chia seeds, choc. protein powder, little instant coffee, summer fruit mix, and some ice. Wow that was a mouthful!
Lunch was some popcorn… yes I know, popcorn. It was of the Simply Food, sweet and salty flavour from Shoppers Drug Mart
There were hotdogs and hamburgers too…but I chose to stick to the fish and salads, as I know I have been eating BAD all week! Plus I had a bit too much samples of cake and the raspberry buttercream when I had the cake incident 😛
This is the salad I brought. It is that Presidents choice Blue Menu stuff I talked about on the blog before, here. All I had to do is chop some spinach up finely and stir it in!
Lots of compliments on the taste, then on the easy recipe once I let my secret out of the bag!
My favourite Salad on the Table was this beauty! Avacodos, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Black Beans, and Green Onion. She said all the dressing is is some lime juice! I will have to remake this at home!
It was a very formal affair… sit down dinner 😉
It was a great time… family, friends and food! Hubby and I left the kids after with my Mom, and played some Catan with my sister and her boyfriend… I got schooled, BAD!
We stayed up WAY TOO LATE!!
…Well I am off to finally make myself a smoothie and slowly start getting ready for the wedding. I can’t wait to see my little cousin get married!
Yesterday was day 2 of driving… Shorter drive than the first day,but LONG nonetheless!
Breakfast was a 1/2 hot chocolate 1/2 coffee and a Tim Horton’s plain oatmeal to go, that I fixed up a little
The addition of Chia Seeds, Blueberries, and Marantha Chocolate Almond butter made it delicious!
Lunch was a slice of left over Tropical Chicken Pizza from our Boston Pizza Hotel Delivery last night… no worries as it was stored in a cooler
We ate it at a little Park in Houston, BC where we saw the world’s largest Fly Fishing Rod!
1/2 PB Lara Bar for a snack
Finally we arrived in Kitimat, after stopping and purchasing a new camera for me in Terrace. I am the proud owner of a Nikon D7000 now! I bought an 18-200 VR lens with it, so I could have a “do it all” lens for my everyday I can’t wait to check out all it can do! (Thankfully I have a photographer for a friend who reads this…and promises to help me figure stuff out on it.) I probably should have bought it in AB as I had to pay HST… but since I got out-voted in waiting till stores open in Edmonton on Friday, and I wanted the larger zoom for this trip… the monetary difference is worth it.
Supper was a Mexican Night with my Mom, Sister, Her BF, Hubby and my kiddos…
What’s the craziest “World’s Largest” thing you have seen on your travels?
Yesterday after a green smoothie for brunch, yes, I slept in. 😉 We went off to Edmonton to look at new trucks to trade the Picky-Hubby’s in for. The trip to look for trucks was a waste as it was late on a Saturday and we didn’t get to go to too many dealers. However, we had another reason on our agenda to make the drive to the city justifiable!
…To watch J.K. Rowlings’ last instalment of the Harry Potter series, where it all ends… Despite already knowing the outcome for several years from reading the series, I was still really excited. The special effects, and the attention to detail to make up the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to match the books is amazing! Happily my kids love it too… Hubby, well he goes along with us.
We were one of the first 25 at the theatre, so we got really cool Harry Potter 3D themed glasses! After a long and boring day at truck dealers, this made it all worth it. I wont go into detail about the movie incase someone hasn’t watched it yet, and they don’t read the books… I will say it is a good one, and the movie made me question things that the book didn’t about Snape and Harry.
